Ford Pass App

Not sure if this is the right area. Last week the Ford Pass App has been able to locate my car. (2018 Fusion) I have a Samsung phone, and am able to start the car with it and see other things. Just this week I noticed it can't locate my car. The location setting is turned on in the phone. Just wondering if Ford discontinued the feature?

Same with my 2017 Ford Escape, it currently says unable to locate. I haven't recently used that functionality but have in the past. I noticed with the latest update on Android that if I go to the vehicle in the app that it says it is running having been remotely started, when it hasn't.

It appears as though the vehicle is still shown in "Find" where you go to look for things close by, like parking and gas.

I have an iphone and my location has not been an issue. But, I have had the app change from english to metric twice.  Each time signing out and back in resolved that issue.

Hi alcohenusa. Just an FYI: Instead of signing out and back in, you can also just go into settings and change your preference back to mpg's and psi.

I have also had the same thing happen to me.  Seems to happen sometimes after after the app updates. Of course, do what ever is easier for you.

Hope this information helps. Good luck.

I reached out to them and they finally said they are having issues. As a matter of fact it seems like everyone got a message in FordPass about it today.

Hi bangster.  Yes, I received an acknowledgement and apology message about the issues, thru LincolnPass today.

I received my apology notice last night. Used the app to schedule a start this morning. Then on the way home from work, the sync screen froze. Could not turn off the heated steering wheel, or switch screens.

Hi Mike.  Not sure if you were asking for advice or not, so I'll assume you were asking and give an answer. Did the problem continue after turning the car off and restarting?  Still frozen today?

My first recommendation: If you have the time, would be to stop by your Dealerships Service Department and show them the issue, so they can see it in real time> Then, make an appointment to bring the car in for service. If you can live with the issue until the appointment, don't master reset or disconnect that battery, as you want the problem to be occurring when you bring the car in.

If it is still frozen and you can't live with the issue until the appointment, you can try a master reset.  If you can not master reset with the frozen screen, you can try disconnecting the battery for about ten minutes, then reconnecting and starting car again (although I dislike the "disconnect the battery" fix-all, since it is a band aid that can hide deeper issues).

Unless there is some unknown glitch, I tend to believe the scheduled start and the issue were not related. Once you get in and put the car in D, the car does not know how you started it and does not care.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

Bbf2530,

After getting home turning the car off and opening the door, it took about 15 seconds for the radio and screen to turn off. Went out a few hours later and it was back to normal. I thought it may have something to do with the Ford Pass App acting up. It did have trouble connecting in the morning when I wanted to schedule a start. If it happens again, I will contact my dealer.

Another question.  Did the app get an update? Reason being when using the (Schedule Start) area, it's locked to the Detroit time zone. Previousmy, it was and should be Chicago. I'm not sure if it was caused by switching to daylight savings time, as I just noticed it on the evening of the 13th.

Hi Mike.  My Lincoln Way app has updated several times in the last few months.  I just checked and it last updated 3 days ago.

bbf2530,

Thanks. This is what I'm getting when I want to select the time zone when adding a remote start. Its stuck showing Detroit. When choosing Detroit, it comes up blank. It showed Chicago before daylight savings time switch. Screenshot_20190315-193242_FordPass.thumb.jpg.1e6b95ff01709bc7ab6b5a7dba35eead.jpg
