dadedn2
I have recently been having car issues. 2 weeks ago I took the car to the dealer and they replaced the Crankshaft Position sensor. This morning the car started to sputtering while leaving a stop. As I proceed to accelerate the car jerked and an orange wrench icon should out on screen. The car felt like it had no power as I pressed the gas, then the check engine light came on. I took it back to the dealer . They told me 2 codes P0335 and P061c. Again, we just replaced the sensor. What could be the problem?

What could be the problem? Hi dadedn2. For possible causes of your issue, you can start here: https://autoservicecosts.com/obd2-codes/p0335/ and here https://repairpal.com/obd-ii-code-p061c-internal-control-module-engine-rpm-performance Obviously, your Dealer has access to this information and more, so they need to properly diagnose this issue and repair it for you. Is your car still within the 5 year/60,000 mile Powertrain Warranty? Keep us updated and good luck. dadedn2
2014 with 37000 miles When they checked the car, the car doesn't recognize that sensor. Does that mean the computer is faulty? I've think I out of warranty.
eGuru
Could also be a connector or wiring issue. Those should be checked before any PCM replacement.

You are certainly well within the 60,000 mile limit. Are you the original owner? if not, what was the in-service date of the car? You can get this important information from your Ford Dealer. Did you pay the Dealer out of pocket for the crankshaft position sensor? It would be a good idea to find out this information, since you may have paid for repairs that were covered under warranty. Let us know what you find out and good luck. Edited December 18, 2018 by bbf2530
jerry12
It could be carbon build up on vales since that is DIG engine 1.5 EcoBoost. Also could be a injector.

Recently the dealer has said there's a short in the ECM wire harness. They moved a wire and the car drove normal until they hit a bump and started sputtering again

They moved a wire and the car drove normal until they hit a bump and started sputtering again Hi dadedn2. So if I understand correctly, you had the car in for this problem while still under warranty, they replaced the Crankshaft Position Sensor, but it did not solve the problem. Now they say it was actually a short in the ECM wiring harness. In that case, the short should be repaired under warranty, since it was misdiagnosed previously while still under warranty. And just to satisfy my curiosity: You state the in-service date was 11/20/13, you were not the original owner and you purchased it in early December, 2013. So the previous owner only had the vehicle for less than 1 month? Just wondering, as it seems odd that the first owner had the vehicle for less than one month. Let us know how you make out with the Dealer and good luck.
dadedn2
So yesterday I got a call saying the catalytic converter needed to be replaced. I was told the catalytic converter was causing the problem. However, I believe the crankshaft sensor failing caused the Converter to fail. I was told the Converter was covered under warranty. My problem is I don't think the problem is gonna be fixed when I get my car back.

However, at this point, all you can do is express your concern to the Service Department, let them replace the catalytic converters and go from there. It could be that the original crankshaft sensor failure led to the catalytic converter failure and the new crankshaft sensor is working fine. So replacing the converters could fix the issue. Bottom line? This is an issue which manifested itself while you were within the 3 year/36,000 mile Bumper to Bumper warranty and was not corrected, so it should be covered at least until they repair it properly (and even longer according to the parts involved). Keep all of your invoices and service records. Keep us updated and good luck.
