Griffin
A few days ago, I noticed that my brights were on and I still had it on the auto setting. I couldn't get them to turn off, and when I flipped the dial over to just headlights, no light came. I thought it was weird and have been driving with just my fog lights on because I don't want to blind anyone. I didn't think both of the headlights would go out at the same time, so today I tried to check the fuse. Somehow, in both the manual in the car and online, I have been unable to figure out which fuse goes to the headlights! I really want to make sure there isn't an electrical issue before I have to take of the bumper to replace the bulbs which is absolutely ridiculous. Is this a common issue? Which fuse actually protects the headlights? Do I really have to take off the entire bumper just to replace a headlight? Thanks for any help. Edit: the car is also a hybrid if that makes any difference Edited December 18, 2018 by Griffin
bangster
So you have the blue light in the dash showing high beams are on, you have taillights, and in auto and manual, when on, only the high beams work, when you put it in the low beam position then no headlights, but still taillights and front running lights and fogs if you have then turned on? If Canadian or otherwise have DRLs, it should use the low beams I think anyways. Whatever module (I think BCM) that controls the headlights is fused, not the actual headlights themselves (owns manual doesn't show any fuses for them, but do for interior lighting...). If isn't unheard of for same bulbs with same pattern of usage to burn out close to each other. I think some people turn the wheel all the way to one side (so front of wheel is pointed towards the center of the car) and access the bulbs through the wheel well, but not much into taking off the bumper cover/header panel.

diakimnj
Bumping this. This happened to me today. I have a 2007 Ford Fusion. This morning my dash indicator light came on to 'Check left headlamp'. About 10 hours later, the indicator came on to 'Check right headlamp'. Got out to check and both headlights were out. Parking lights/fog lights/high beams worked. I also noticed my left taillight was out but I didn't get a warning about that. When I got home I replaced the left headlight and it worked. I had bought them (Philips H11 VisionPlus) through Amazon on December 5, 2017 and most likely would have put them in shortly after that.
