Digital_Dad
Hello Friends, I am in SW Missouri and just bought my wife a 2015 Ford Fusion SE 2.5L after a ice covered branch skewered her beloved Focus a few weeks ago during an ice storm we had that did quite a bit of damage. She is very excited about her new to her car and I want to make sure I have a knowledge base to help her keep it on the road in style. We also have 3 other Ford Focus's the our two sons and I drive. And we regularly post on another forum for Focus's. I already have some questions about possible upgrades and maintenance for her car. I hope I am able to make a few friends and learn a lot here!
bangster
Congrats on the new car! No more DCT "automatic" transmission if you had any of the common issues with them (depending on the years of Focus).
bangster
I originally was looking for a 1-2 year old Focus hatch for a car for my college aged daughter that lives away from us. Most were ex rentals with 35-45k miles, and they all had really poor slow/low speed drivability issues (from either the TCM issue or leaking seals soaking the clutches), not just because it was a DCT (which I think is great just not Fords implementation of it). Otherwise I felt it would be a great car for her and something she could use for the rest of college and afterwards until she was an established adult with a job. For around 1k more was able to get a Fusion, not quite the fuel mileage of the Focus, but I think she can drive it longer without outgrowing it or feel she needs something bigger or "better".

propwash
Welcome to the forum. There are some pretty knowledgeable people here, and I think you should be able to find quite a bit of help for any questions you might have. Welcome aboard!
BlueWave
Pretty Fusion. Congrats. In late January, I "upgraded" from an '09 Focus SES with 118k on it to a 2017 Fusion SE with only 14k. It was a lease turn-in. Super clean and lots of extras.
