K&N typhoon sri

Magnaflow exhaust

Steeda lowering springs w/ bilstien shocks/struts

DAI 18" wheels w/ BFG pro comp tires

I'd really like to see some replies w/ photos on what you guys (and girls) have done to yours as well!!!!

Nice, I kinda like the clean look without the rear spoiler versus mine with the spoiler, and the filled wheel wells with the lowering.

Not a fan of dark wheels but those have enough detail to look good.

I hope to do some work on mine, for the time being I am satisfied with trying to get it back to clean stock condition then do some mild work on it, visual and mechanical.

I am a little disappointed in the performance of mine, and feel that it would take too much to improve it much, so I will likely get myself another car like another Mark VIII or something smaller/lighter.

Thanks, id like to say though that the wheels are a bit misleading in this picture. The sun was setting so they look much darker then they actually are. IRL they're actually a graphite color with little silvery specs in them. But i do completely agree on the dark wheel thing, if mine were any darker i probably would have had them powder coated to a lighter color.

Is yours an auto or manual? I've had both and i can definitely say the manual feels like it has more pep in its step. I dont know if ford underrated the 2.5 Duratec or something but i have friends with K24 civic SI's and they cannot out run this car. It kind of pisses them off that a ford sedan is right next to their SI that they paid a lot more money for.

And there are many aftermarket parts for this engine but theyre hidden in the bowels of the internet. Anything mazda 3/6 will swap over and you can turbo it with the mazdaspeed manifolds but dont use the turbo because its too small and will spike boost at like 1800rpm. (no bueno!) The 2.5 heads flow extremely well, i remember seeing a chart comparing the K24 to the Duratec 25 and the ford flowed like 30% more right from the factory. Crower makes cams for the engines, Mountune makes full forged internals as well. Many popular race cars like the Caterham 500 and the BAC Mono use this engine as well, so the parts are there theyre just hard to find. And they arent that expensive either, almost in line with building any newer honda 4 banger and slightly less than the good old 4g63.

I have a Sport with the 263hp 3.5 V6. I am sure a tune would help with drivability and a little hp, and an exhaust for sound.

The Mark VIII it replaces has 290hp and is 250 pounds lighter, was RWD seems much quicker. I would love to have another one, they don't come up very often and are either worn out or people seem to think they are worth a mint.

Even with a manual transmission I don't think I would be satisfied with the 2.5. My 2015 has it and it isn't much fun to drive. I drove a 2013 1.6 GTDI Fusion with a manual and it was okay, a little more HP but the turbo matched up to the manual pretty well.

I do like the sports because of the rocker extensions, also the 3.5 is a great engine, but definitely could have been better. i dont think ford wanted it to be anywhere near the taurus or mustang when they dropped the fusion sport. The mark viii more than likely felt quicker not only due to more power but less power loss since its not sending power to all four wheels. awd is so parasitic :(

I also agree with what you said on the 2.5, it is by no means a fast car in any way. It works for me though being in and out of the city a lot and i dont really need all the power in the world to really rip. My biggest gripe is the gear ratios with the manual, each gear seems to only net you another 20 mph after 1st.

Im also in the market for a new car as well,  and recently the wife has taken a liking to the 300z's (my favorite car) so sometime soon when the right one comes along ill have me a good twin turbo rwd car to really have fun in and ill keep the fusion for work and the thing all guys dread the most, grocery getting.
