jadjay
I have a 2007 fusion with the automatic temperature control unit where you select the temperature you want the temperature to be in the car and it regulates to that temperature. The heat has been working fine but now that it is becoming spring i noticed that i was not getting cold air to regulate the temperature, if i select a low temperature like 60f the air will blow through the vents but its pure hot not the AC like it should be. i checked the compressor and that kicks in, the refrigerant lines get cold so the AC is working but the air coming into the cab is only hot. I did some searching on this issue and i think it is the Blend Door or maybe the actuator, is there a way to tell for sure that is the issue? thanks
eGuru
You can put your finger on the end of the BDA shaft and see if you can feel any movement as you adjust the temperature control. Use a DVM and measure the voltage to the actuator motor - it should switch between positive 12V and negative 12V as you adjust the control between minimum and maximum temperature set points.
