Continued Fusion production

Recommended Posts

Hi all.  Don't know if anyone else has posted this information yet, but it is great news for those of us who still do not want a CUV, SUV or truck! According to Blue Oval Forums member "ice-capades" (a very reliable source), his Ford Zone Manager has informed his Dealership that production for the Ford Fusion has now been extended through at least the 2023 model year.

Hope this makes some of you happy! Good luck.

That would be great, though I'd think a model run through '23 might necessitate a refresh (They've had basically the same body style since 2013) and I can't see Ford putting out the money to do that. I hope this happens, though.

I'd think Lincoln would be part of this reason. I don't think they want to drop the MKZ and Continental any time soon. I don't think it would be profitable to only maintain production of just those two models.

Edge/Nautilus redesign got pushed out and I assume they'll be doing MKZ/Continental (which may merge into one sedan) at the same time on the CD6 platform.  I've heard Edge is going to CD6F - a FWD version of CD6 as opposed to the RWD version used for Explorer and Aviator.   Continental could go either way and there may or may not be a Fusion replacement on that platform.

Hi all. Latest news: Unfortunately, the Fusion Sport has been discontinued for the 2020 model year. This information is as per the 2020 Fusion Order Guide posted by "ice-capades", over on the Blue Oval Forums. tango_face_sad.png
