mdr60503
I have a 2014 Fusion se with selectshift on the shifter. If I install a fusion steering wheel (same year) with paddles will they work to shift gears? It looks like wiring harness is the same.

My educated guess: Not without rewiring and probably reprogramming. Right now, your manual shifting is controlled from the button on your shifter, which is connected to the transmission/TCM/PCM system by a wiring harness. So that wiring harness would need to be rerouted from the shift knob up to the steering wheel, then split to go to the downshift paddle on the left of the wheel and the upshift paddle on the right of the wheel. And then hope it works without some sort of reprogramming. Edited June 7, 2019 by bbf2530
eGuru
I suspect that the steering wheel paddle shifter would require a replacement of the clock spring module. I will look at the details when I get back home from the Mediterranean and let you know.

bangster
Very cool! I want to replace my 2017 Escape wheel with a leather wrapped one (it was the paddle shifters already) and looks like a lot more availability of the Fusion wheel used than the Escape. I love the paddle shifters for towing and downgrades. I would be more likely to remember to shift with them than I am with my 2012 with the H gate. I meant to post that it looks like there are 2 clock springs, With and WithOut heated wheel, and not a different one for paddle shift or not. My daughter might think she was a race car driver with them, I showed her how to use it since she moved to snow country and hill country, but if it was easier and on the wheel she might use it a lot.
