Ryan s
Hi I have a 2016 Ford Fusion se turbo with my Ford touch. The other day I got in and tried to start the car. It wasn’t really turning over but after a second of struggling and almost dying it started up but sounded like it was going to stall. Then tonight I was driving and the orange wrench light appeared and stated that I needed to read the manual. I lost acceleration and pulled over, the car was idling extremely rough so I turned the car off then back on. Everything was fine except I had the same startup problem as before. I talked to the dealership about my transmission seeming off but they said it checked out. But recently the transmission has felt rough. What do you think?

WRT your problem, it's virtually impossible to diagnose something like this over the Internet. The appearance of the orange wrench light in prior generation Fusions usually indicated a problem with the electronic throttle body. This has not been a common problem in later model years but that certainly doesn't rule it out. TB issues can mimic transmission issues too. Your statement re talking to dealer about your trans is a bit confusing. Has the car been to the dealer for a diagnosis of the current problem or just to have the trans checked out? At the very least, you would need to see if any fault codes are set. That would be my next step, unless you own an OBD II code reader. Bear in mind that if your car still has B2B warranty coverage or the extended powertrain coverage, this could be covered.
