Looking for recommendations for spark plugs

Purchased a 14 SE 2.OEB AWD last year and love the car. MPG isn't great but that's city driving for ya. We're at 75K and I'd like to get new plugs. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi StuandTracey. Stick with the OEM Motorcraft plugs listed in the Maintenance/Specifications section of your Owners Manual..  They are high quality plugs. No reason to try anything else. Some who have tried other plugs have had an inordinate amount of problems.

Good luck.

Stick with the OEM Motorcraft Iridium plugs. 75k is pretty early, but for $20 bucks not a huge cash outlay. You could also do plugs for ~$6 by using the Autolite XP Iridium plugs (with rebate), but I don't know how well this engine fairs with them, they are very similar to Motorcraft with iridium finewire tip and platinum ground strap.

I thought that AWD would affect fuel mileage more than it does, but yours has an EPA rating of 22 for city driving, same as FWD, highway and combined are 1 mpg less than FWD though. My AWD versus FWD I lose 3 mpg highway (and I believe it!).

Ford used to own Autolite and Autolite still makes some of Ford's spark plugs under the Motorcraft name. I've used Autolite spark plugs, double platinum APP, in all my Ford vehicles without a single problem. Getting to the rear spark plugs on my 2012 V6 is a major PITA so I want a plug that will last a long time.

On RockAuto.com I show the copper Motorcraft plugs cost $3.19 each while the double platinum Autolites cost $3.63 each. The Autolites are easily the best choice.

For the OPs 2014 2.0 GTDI there likely isn't a copper plug.

$4.27 each for Motorcraft Platinum

$4.63 each for Autolite Iridium ($1.63 after $3 rebate each plug)

5% coupon code easy to find

for the 3.0, those "copper" plugs are really nickel, they wear nearly as well as Platinum, but I agree, I wouldn't want to do the rear plugs frequently on the 3.0, which is even worse than my 3.5. Not horrible but more opportunities to break stuff. I say go for the Iridium plugs, Ruthenium is supposedly higher wear and performance, not seen any performance numbers, not worth the 3x price I don't think.
