cs51762
I'm looking to replace our 2013 Fusion SE with a newer model and I'd like it to have Sync 3. Is there a way to tell just from pictures on the Internet without having to examine the car in-person? Manufacture date, maybe? Thanks. There is no sight unseen, foolproof way (that I can think of at the moment) to tell if a Fusion has SYNC 3, other than to run the VIN for the window sticker or ask the seller, if they can get it right. I'm not sure if the touch screen is different in base SYNC vs SYNC 3 Fusions. Some information that may help: I believe SYNC 3 was first introduced into the Fusion with the 2017 model year, since I do not see it mentioned in the 2016 Fusion Order Guide. A quick look at the 2017 Fusion Order Guide shows SYNC 3 was not available in the base Fusion S model, was optional on the SE and Sport models (as part of an option package), and standard on the Titanium and Platinum models. Hopi this information helps and good luck. Edited October 9, 2019 by bbf2530
bangster
2016 and older, no SYNC 3 from factory 2017 and newer, 4.2 inch (small) display is not SYNC 3. 8 inch (larger) screen is Sync 3.
Multitask
Yup, as was said, Visually you can tell, Sync 2 has 4 even (square) panels, Sync 3 has 4 (maybe 5 if you included the heated seats part) but not proportioned You said you have a 2013, it's definatly Sync 2.
bangster
He is replacing the 2013, not wondering what version it has As far as if the seller doesn't show the middle screen, there is nothing else in the SE package that is unique to that package (like my 2017 Escape if it is an SE and has black cargo rails it has SYNC 3) so no other obvious signs. 2017/2018 S never 2017/2018 SE or Sport maybe (package item) 2017/2018 Platinum (only available these years) always 2019/2020 S maybe (package item) 2019/2020 SE or SEL or Sport always (Sport model removed for 2020) 2017/2018/2019/2020 Titanium always
