Blind Spot System Fault & Cross Traffic System Fault

Recommended Posts

Hey, everyone! So I've seen a couple posts about the Blind Spot System Fault and Cross Traffic System Fault notifications coming up but none quite fit my situation.

So I have a 2013 Fusion with about 90K miles.

So a couple weeks ago when i turned on my car two notifications came up saying "Blind Spot System Fault" and "Cross Traffic System Fault" BUT my A/C wouldn't turn on, my radio controls/ A/C controls also weren't working, the driver side door buttons stopped working (lock buttons, window buttons, buttons to move mirrors) and the passenger side lock buttons didn't work but the window button did. The light under the driver side mirror also stayed on. The next morning it all went back to normal and ever since then it's happened a couple times (today it happened 3 times). I figured out if I pop the hood and unplug these two plugs next to the sensors (that's what my dad told me to do) and it works every time but I don't know what is happening and it's getting frustrating.

Are you still on your original12 volt  battery?  If so, that could be the source of your random electrical gremlins.  Many times, seemingly unrelated warnings like that are the first  indication that your battery is on its last legs.  Have your battery tested by a shop that has the newest test equipment and see what test results you get.  If your battery is the original one, it's really living on borrowed time at six years old and needs to be replaced.
