Tires wear out quickly on my 2014 Fusion

My 2014 Fusion seems to go through tires very quickly and I'm wondering if any of you have noticed this on other vehicles?  With my last two vehicles (one was a Ford Probe, one was an Oldsmobile Alero) if I purchased 50K mile tires I could usually get at least 60K miles on them. On my current Fusion, none of the tires have lasted half as long as they should. My current tires are 50K mile tires but the tread on them is already so worn that I'm being told by service centers (where I get my oil changed) that I need new tires right away (I've gone 25K miles so far). The first set of tires that came with the car didn't last all that long so I thought they were just cheap ones that are given to new cars. The set I replaced last year (I think they were 65K mile tires) lasted 30K miles and I thought maybe I got a bad set of Michelins. My current ones are Goodyears so now I'm concerned it's a problem with the car. My driving style isn't aggressive at all. I put 30K miles on my tires each year and most of them are highway miles.  I do get them rotated when I go in for oil changes.  I'm a bit baffled why this might be happening so I wanted to ask if this is common for Fords (or Ford Fusions specifically) or if something could be wrong with the car? What do you recommend I do?  Thanks.

Not a Ford issue and as long as the tires are wearing evenly it's not a car issue.   I've never had car tires last more than 25K or so.  Some has to do with weather (heat) and road conditions but I think new tires are just different and wear out faster in general.  The mfr treadwear warranty doesn't mean much but you can get them prorated which is sometimes cheaper.

If they are all wearing evenly and no odd wear patterns, then not sure what to think. I don't think much of the OEM tires on my Appearance Package 2015 Fusion (which are Goodyear Eagle LS-2) which do not have a manufacturer rated tread wear rating, at 68k miles it has worn out the second set.

I don't think there is anything specific with the Fusion that would cause them to wear out evenly quicker. Have you gotten an alignment?

I can sometimes get close to the treadlife warranty on regular old passenger car tires, but for cars I usually drive I go with UHP/Max Performance that rarely have a treadlife warranty, due to aggressive tread and soft (usually under 300 treadwear rating).

On my older car that was in a couple major accidents I really watched tire wear (as it spent 4 hours on a frame machine getting straightened out) and would measure each tire all across the tread and write it down, and where it was moved to, and I would usually get more miles that the manufacture would warranty it for. It seemed silly especially once I hit 300,000 miles and starting putting whatever cheap tire met my requirements (heat A, traction A, 40,000 miles rating minimum, etc) since I didn't know how much longer it would be going.

I have owned 3 different Fusions, 2011 SE, 2013 S and 2016 SE.  I have never had any problems with abnormal tire wear. Granted the Goodyear LS2 that have been the OEM tires left a lot to be desired in the handling department on the 2013 and 2016. Both tires wore out with in 25k miles.  I have found that maintaining correct tire pressures is nagging issue that I have constantly battled on all my Fusions.  I always carried an air pump in my trunk and found myself adding air at least once a month.  Now with my 2017 Sport, I can monitor my pressures from the dash display and have had no problems so far.

I do agree with my fellow posters, that there are many different variables that can cause the tires to wear out "early".  But, if there is no uneven wear, that pretty much throws out alignment/strut issues.

Not trying to funny or an a**, but it just sounds like you may be a little tougher on your tires than you think.
