2010 Hybrid tpms type band or valve?

Hello. Never had the tires off. Looking to replace my tpms sensors or bypass them completely but I'm unsure of the tpms type in the 2010 Fusion Hybrid? One shop tells me band and another tells me valve? Done a search here and the only picture I could find was the 315Mhz valve sensors. Are those correct for the 2010 Hybrid?

Cheers...

Good luck trying to figure out what aftermarket TPMS you need.

I got a set of 4 for $45 from Amazon for my 2015 Fusion, the Amazon guide says they won't work for the set of 4, for same part number individually they say they work. They got installed in new rims and snow tires and programmed in no problem. The tire shop said the light be on until the initialize, but my daughter said the light never came on or blinked.

I got the OEM part number for them from Tasca and searched for that, but again Amazon sellers can put all sorts of part numbers in a page for a product.

I am pretty sure up to 09 was band style, and 2010+ are the stem type. There might be different stem types, the same one for my 2015 seems to be the same for my 2012. Also be weary of "Motorcraft" ones for $45 for a set of 4. They are likely not Motorcraft, so don't think you are getting Ford aftermarket set of 4 for the price of 1 from a dealer or parts place that won't be selling "counterfeit" ones.

I didn't expect mine to be real Motorcraft just Chinese knockoffs. I also hoped that the TPMS service built into the price of mounting (I bought tires on TireRack and had them delivered to an installer) would be enough, as programming in new sensors is different than rotating already programmed in ones.

Yeah. It's a bit of a crapshoot for sure. Think I'm just going to give this a shot and see if it works...

Doesn't list the 2010 Fusion but if it uses the 315Mhz valve sensors it should work.

Cheers...

Hi dragnet. It's not a crapshoot. As stated in the Tire Rack link provided, the 2010 Fusion Hybrid uses valve stem type sensors. The switch over from band to valve stem sensors was made for the 2010 model year. I simply provided the link for verification for you.

If you want correct part numbers, ask your Ford Dealer or an online official Ford Parts seller, not Amazon, eBay or anyone else. Who did you ask at your Dealership? Any halfway competent Ford Parts Department can provide you with the correct part #, if you just stop by and ask, or even call. If they can not provide it by model year, they can provide it by VIN. But you need to ask the Parts Department, not others in the Service Department or Sales. For example - Silver State Ford Parts lists the part # as "9L3Z-1A189-A".

Good luck.

I have replaced 2 tire sensors so far on my 2010 FFH due to failing batteries. I used the Schrader 20315 TPMS Sensor (valve type) purchased from amazon. Perfect fit and appears to be the OEM part. Amazon also sells the Motorcraft TPMS19 transmitter required to program/train the new sensor to the car. You can also use the transmitter to identify which sensor has failed and needs to be replaced.
