RAC-C8ZZ
The serpentine belt idler pulley bearing mount and support bracket has been successfully installed on a 2007 Ford Fusion with the 2.3L motor.

RAC-C8ZZ
This modification eliminates the idler pulley bolt failure issue commonly associated with the 2.3L motor in the Ford Fusion, and other Ford / Mercury vehicles with the same 2.3L motor configuration.

RAC-C8ZZ
The expectation was that there would be a lot of interest, and quite of few of these parts could be made, hopefully keeping the cost reasonable. As for now this is the only one.

Hello. It is the Power Steering that is causing the Idler Pulley bolt to break. This happens upon Cold Start Up. To resolve this problem, do not place your left hand on the steering wheel. The reason: Accidental wiggle by your left hand upon cold startup will cause the power steering to enable a strong pull on all the pulleys connected to serpentine belt. Idler pulley is the weakest among the group of pulleys. This happened to my 2008 Ford Escape 2.3 Duratec and I have the habit of resting my left hand on the steering wheel upon startup. To this date, I never start my Ford Escape with my left hand on the steering wheel upon start up and no Idler pulley bolt breaking ever since. Hope this helps

Hi Mike. You can contact RAC-C8ZZ by sending him/her a PM. They were logged on as recently as earlier this week. Good luck.
