I don't buy winter tires. That's a waste of money to me. I don't live where they are required. The good year tires are more expensive than all the others but with the rebates they end up being cheaper,so it doesn't make sense to buy a cheaper and lower in ratings tires. If you want to buy a less quality tire for more money because your stuck on a brand then good luck to you, but it really all depends on the person and the car. I'm going to try them because of the price and ratings, but since this will be the first set of tires on this car I won't be able to rate them good until I have another new set to compare against.

It is kind of funny that you don't need snow tires, as this tire is only one of a few that get the severe snow certification and also a tread wear rating.

I thought about getting these for my daughter since she just moved to snow country (but not heavy duty snow country), but at 60k miles she has already worn out her second set of Goodyears, so for 1/2 the price I got snow tires and rims, and she can get a decent set of all seasons.

You asked for opinions and suggestions from the members and you received them.

Of course you are free to make your own purchasing decision based on your circumstances and preferences.

You don't need to justify your decision or post  rebuttals with a negative tone when you don't agree with feedback.

Your totally out in left field all by yourself eguru. I was most pleasant with my response. Maybe you shouldn't be so negative and take everything that way because your about to change the tone in the forum with that post.

Actually he was spot on.  You might want to reread what you posted.  You may not agree with or take the advice but you don't have to say negative things about it.

I should have just been rude since I'm being accused of it anyways. So here. I should have said, if you want to be stupid and stay with a tire because you like the name instead of paying less for a better quality tire then be dumb.  All happy? That's the only part ofmy statement that's even remotely negative.

Bangster, yea I know its got that rating, that means it's better in the snow then the Continentals right. Plus they beat every other tire but the crossclimates on the tire rack ratings list.

And what I meant by I don't need snow tires is I have actually never bought a snow tire. I always have run all seasons. Even back when we used to get feet's of snow where I live, but now days we don't get much at all. I have always been able to get where I needed up hills or down in the snow. Experience and skills plays a major part in snow weather not the tires so much in my opinion, but the snow advantage of tires is not the reason I am buying them instead of the Continental ,it's just a bonus, the price and supposed quality is what sold me.

It's not what was said, but how it was said...

You asked for opinions from forum members, and if you bother to go back and look, you'll see that everyone who has responded has both been a member here for ages, and have owned Fusions for a LONG time.  Perhaps, it would be useful to heed their advice.

As to the tires - I've owned numerous Goodyear tires over the past couple decades, and I can say without any undue bias that out of all of them, I've had AT BEST, mediocre experience with them, and at worst, terrible experience with them.  We have made our suggestions based off of personal experience, and not just based off of reviews that we've read online.

If you haven't already bought your tires, may I suggest you continue looking.   From my own personal experience, as well as from discussions with MANY people, may I suggest that you consider Cooper.  Their CS-5 Ultra Touring tire is an exceptionally good, and widely touted tire.  The last tires I put on my 2010 Fusion before I sold it were Cooper Zeon RS3-A tires, and I can tell you that my experience with those was exceptional.  40,000 mile treadwear rating, but I got over 65,000 miles on them over the course of nearly 3 years, and they still had between 5/ and 6/32" tread left when I sold the car.  This is driving in Phoenix year round.

If you want to get indignant and snippy, that's fine.. but just remember that we're just trying to help you.

See in my opinion I was nothing but polite. Guess I just don't fit in with the rest of the world. You have you thoughts I have mine. Your opinion is no better than a review from some other guy with his own personal experience also that I don't know. Just because the tires work well on your car doesn't mean they work the same on mine. Just because you post in Ford forums and not on tire rack doesn't make you an expert. I never criticized there suggestions just there state of thinking if they are brand loyal. I am open to all suggestions or I wouldn't be here, but you can't say I'm not listening or completely ignoring there recommendations. Again I have spent a month looking at different tires reading different reviews. All tires have mixed reviews. I could get a pair of Cooper, general, pirella or Continentals but the good year is the cheapest and if they don't hold up o well at least I got 4 for 460ish instead of $800.

Actually now that I reread everything a couple times I'm lost as to why this negative stuff even started.

If you want to buy a less quality tire for more money because your stuck on a brand then good luck to you, but it really all depends on the person and the car.

Now this statement is the negative part we are all concerned about correct? Because everything else is a fact or my opinion in that post. I'm just so lost as to what was negative.

And that was the negative part - implying we’re stupid because we’re “stuck on a brand” all because some subjective internet rating said they were better.

Look - we don’t care what you buy.  If you want Goodyear’s buy Goodyears.  Take our advice or not but don’t ask for advice and then tell us it’s stupid.  That’s rude.

Whatever I'm over it and done thinking about it. Cant please the world. People need to be less sensitive.

We’re far from sensitive - we just don’t like being told we’re stupid for helping people who ask for help

If we were judgy we would have said something about those god awful wheels, for those I think everyone stuck to the facts. The parts that are knowledge I think you got well thought out answers to help (offset and wheel size).

The opinion part was lacking as you never really stated the environment or use of the tires. Opinions are just that. I probably wouldn't buy Goodyears due to wear issues. I wouldn't buy a winter rated tire because I live in the desert. I wouldn't buy traction B or heat range B because crappy. I won't buy 700 tread wear rated tires, especially ones that are also winter rated. But I know what I want in a tire, I might not know what category it should be in, but I know my operating parameters.

Only thing you state that I see is "don't need winter tires", which in all reality those WeatherReady tires are (but a compromise for year around use).

I have rubbed most people the wrong way here at one point or another, I am sure obsessive posting of pictures and what I have done are annoying, but I also feel that someone at some time might find them useful, even if already covered by posts. I have found a ton of good information and answers to questions I have asked. Some are opinion and I accept that and value it but also know that it might not fit my case if I was vague in my question(s).

Yes I did ask about rims didn't I

Yes, you did, and in your initial post, you also brought up tires, which implied that the tires themselves were also up for discussion.. especially after you posted this in a later post:

I reviewed many tires and found for the ratings vs price these were the best. If you have a specific tire in mind let me know please.

Again, you can buy whatever tire you want for your car.. but if you ask us for input and help, it comes off as rude and confrontational if you then turn around and essentially call us stupid for our responses.

.. having said that, I suspect we won't see any more posts from you.  Whichever tires you buy/bought, enjoy.
