AdvanceTrac ABS and Traction Control Lights on Dash

Hello,

thanks in advance for any replies.

2014 Ford Fusion with lights on dash (See below picture). I have done some research and lots of people mentioned the ABS Wheel Speed Sensor or the wiring harness going to the sensor. I had the car scanned at the shop and it called out the passenger rear sensor. I replaced the sensor with an OEM part and looked over all the wiring. It seemed fixed for 4 days. Today it kicked back on again. Am I missing something? Or is it possible another wheel speed sensor went bad.

Thanks again.

Since i have not received any replies, I will be updating this post to assist anyone having a similar issue. As of now, the speed sensor has been replaced and the wiring has been looked over. I ran a diagnostic tool on it only to get the same codes as before. I re-looked over everything but to no avail. Took it to a family owned shop by my house. Will post the solution when it is found.

My car had this same thing.  Took it to shop this am.

The Advance Trac warning light came on, along with a message to "Service Advancetrac." as well as ABS, traction control, hill start assist, airbag issue, rear camera works but no warnings.  Steering is extremely stiff.    I took it to shop Friday and they attempted to reset codes.  It didn't work.  I drove to store came out and all lights were gone and car was working fine.  This morning i go to leave and they are all back on.

This has been an major headache. The shop scanned the car and came up with an open circuit failure code. The shop removed the entire wiring harness for the speed sensor and fixed up any corroded wiring and plugs. They reinstalled the wiring and the codes went away. 12 hours later they performed their final testing before returning the vehicle to us and the lights came back on. They re scanned the car and now it is throwing a mechanical failure fault. So they inspected and replaced the bearing since there is a ring that connects to the speed sensor within the bearing. After testing it today, they are still getting the Advancetrac, ABS and Traction Control failures.

The ABS Speed Sensor has been replaced, entire wiring harness inspected and the wheel bearing has been replaced. This has been an absolute nightmare. If anyone has any information at all it would be greatly appreciated.

Had 2013 Fusion into shop for dash lights, problem was a rubbed wire rf wheel sensor up in conduit away from the sensor. My code reader did not show any codes however the dealership had a wheel sensor code, which prompted the search for the prob. Other posts on this forum show similar problems. The dealership explained that the warning codes probably shut down the cruise, blind spot sensor etc as the info was confusing for the computer. Wire was repaired and now everything is back to normal. It sounds like this is a common problem and perhaps a service bulletin should be issued to help diagnose the problem with the car.

The end result was corrosion in the wiring by the ABS Sensor. The initial review of the wiring harness did not include all of the wiring going to the sensor. The last bit of wiring that was not checked was covered with tape and had corrosion in it resulting in the lights coming on. The corrosion was so bad that the wires just crumbled away in the mechanic's fingers when pulled on.

Good that it's fixed.  This issue is often traced to the wiring.

Thanks for the update.  It could help other members.  Not everyone takes the trouble.

Glad you got the issue fixed @ark898023!

I think the quoted text is an unrelated issue.

The advancetrac warning that displays seems to me to be related to many issues where the system shuts down multiple systems based on the origination of the problem.

I couldn't stress how important it is that people add the DTC codes pulled because they are what help to pinpoint the problem and provide much more reference than the user displayed warnings.
