drolds1
Going for the Subaru Outback market: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a30653717/ford-fusion-wagon-spied/
bangster
Highly Frankensteined and not sure how it compares to the Edge size wise, but I am not sure there is a market for something like it, I guess I need to compare the Edge with the Subie. I know they wouldn't sell many wagons in the US, but would rather see it than yet another SUV.

It's a common practice to cobble together pieces of other cars in order to test drive trains, suspensions, cooling, etc while keeping the mechanicals hidden from view. I suppose they're trying to play on the popularity of the Fusion name.
bangster
Yeah, I get that it is bits and pieces of other cars, but as we know the Edge shares the platform with the Fusion already (same wheelbase, edge is wider, taller), and comparing the Edge to the Outback it is wider, but I would say same class already. If not size, what will differentiate the Edge from the Fusion SUV? Not sure how the next Fusion platform will compare to the current one.
drolds1
Fusion will probably be more sedan-like than the Edge for those who don't want to make the break entirely. But I already think there's too many SUVs/CUVs to begin with. I'm an old-school sedan guy, so and I'm never giving mine up. I just ordered the last of the MKZs and I'll just move on to something else if there's nothing for me from FoMoCo. I almost went for a Genesis G70 Sport this time. That'll likely be my next car unless something better comes along.
