Chip
I test drove a new 2019 Fusion with a 1.5 eco-boost and when I returned from the test drive I opened the hood and found that not only was the under hood insulation missing, but also the foam engine cover was missing as well. The attached picture is like what I see in my wife's 2016 1.5. Is this de-contenting or is someone at the dealership pulling stuff off the lot warrior I drove? If it is an example of de-contenting, what year did Ford start to remove the engine cover & hood insulation?
bangster
Looks like decontenting, I find that all the Ford manufacturer pictures for the 1.5 for 2019 and 2020 show no cover, I can tell it isn't the 2.5. I also think it is gone for the 2.0 as well I think the intake tube runs differently than the 1.5 and i see some different looking 2019 engine pictures. I think it still existed in 2018, maybe not the full year (or full year of 2019?). As far as the hood blanket, it seems like it is missing as well, I don't recall how far back on the hood it goes, but the images show shiny painted metal instead where I expect to see the blanket.
