Tuner recommendation

I have a 2011 Fusion SEL v6 and am interested in a performance tuner. Who do you all recommend? SCT, Steeda or someone else?

Hi Workoutgirl. There are proponents for both SCT and Steeda. First you may want to contact those companies to be sure they are still providing new customer tunes for the Fusion, since it is now a discontinued model.

 

Next, you may get some quicker information if you do a site search for previous threads, conversations and posts concerning tuners.

 

At least that will get you started until other members jump in with their own opinions and preferences.

I just bought the Steeda Power Package for my 2010 Sport which comes with the Cold Air Intake and the SCT X4 Handheld Tuner.

 

I'm going to try it with the included Steeda tune and see how I like it. I plan to try both the 87 octane and 91 octane tune to see which I like better.

 

If I'm not satisfied, there's also the very popular "Tuning by James" as well as Unleashed Tuning.

 

I realize gains will be minimal on a naturally-aspirated engine, but I'm more interested in the improvement in responsiveness and drivability.

 

Worst case scenario, I can always flash it back to stock and sell the intake and handheld tuner to get most of my money back.

If you haven't installed the CAI you can probably sell it at a better price and save yourself the labour.

These CAI's are no better than stock and in some ways worse.
