Hi so I have a 2010 Ford Fusion 3.0 fwd with select shift. I was having troubles with the transmission once it was warm. I had a mechanic switch the transmission now the car doesn’t turn on also on dash cluster it doesn’t show what position the transmission is in any ideas

Hi hmrivera. In all honesty, your best course of action would be for the mechanic that did the transmission work to diagnose and correct the issue. Didn't he have the car working when you picked it up?

If that is not possible, then hopefully one of our tech members will jump in with more advice.

Keep us updated and good luck.

The thing is I haven’t picked the car up yet because he can’t figure out why it isn’t cranking. It has no codes on the scanner. Does the 6f35 need to relearn when being replaced ?

Hi hmrivera. I am not a tech, so that is why I would hope a tech may jump in with some advice.

Internet guessing at things to try, without knowing exactly what the mechanic/shop did: If you have both IKT fobs, try following the instructions in your Owners Manual to reprogram them, on the off chance they were somehow wiped from the vehicle memory.

The problem is it seems (to a non-tech) the TCM may not be communicating properly with the car.

Keep us updated and good luck.

It would seem to me that if you're paying a mechanic to replace your trans, it's up to him to solve this problem.  If the shop doesn't have the facilities to diagnose things like this and has to consult with a Ford dealer, or even have the car  towed there, so be it.  It should be included in the cost of the job.  It's not up to you to solve the problem.   A dealer should be able to diagnose this with their IGS scan tool.
