HI DRGIGGLES. What does the shop way after the latest issue? They have their hands on the car, so should be able to diagnose better than Internet strangers.

That being said: If a coil goes bad (seemingly after they were manipulating them to replace the plugs), it can fry the PCM, which will require replacing the PCM.

And the opposite can also occur. If the PCM went bad first, it could have fried the coil.

Perhaps another member will jump in with some other experience/advice, but in the meantime, I would sat the shop needs to do some diagnosis. Also, it is probably not coincidental that this all happened after the shop replaced the plugs.

Keep us updated and good luck.

did you ever get this resolved? I've recently had a cylinder 4 misfire issue. So far I've swapped the spark plugs and the CPS. I went out today to grab an injection system for cylinder 4 to find out that my oil is burning up or leaking somewhere ( piston or turbo problem). Any further information you can provide will be helpful.

Is there a sure fire way to determine whether the PCM is contributing to the issue?
