We just bought a 17 S trim and realized when after we bought that it does not have a rear console with cup holders. How can I add cup holders has others added cup holders, I'm sure someone has been in this situation before.

Hi Lunareclipse. Not sure what you mean by a "rear console". The Fusion does not have a "rear console".

I am guessing you are actually referring to the rear center armrest? If that is correct, you would need to replace the entire center armrest. Not sure it would be worth the trouble and cost.

If you want to do it anyway, you can either purchase the correct armrest from your local Ford Dealer's Parts Department, an online Ford Parts seller, or try to locate it from a Salvage Yard.

Good luck.

Yes there is no rear armrest period. We didn't know this till after we bought and got it home. So I would have to replace the 60 side of the seat with a SE trim. I figured someone else has done this and added cup holders with a aftermarket way.

Thanks.

Hi Lunareclipse. In that case, yes, it would seem you would need to do as you said. You would need to source and buy a Fusion seat-back that has an armrest. Keep in mind that your seat cover upholstery and color may not match those from another model year/trim level Fusion. Therefore, you will probably need to transfer your seat cover to the new seat back. And the seat cover will not fit correctly, since you car does not have a center armrest cutout and the new seat-back will.

If the seat covers do not match, the center armrest upholstery will not match either, and you do not have a center armrest to transfer a matching cover from. Also, I doubt there is an "aftermarket"/third party source to add cup-holders to a center armrest.

Not trying to throw cold water on the idea, only pointing out the possible obstacles which may be encountered. You may be better off sticking with the cup-holders which are in the doors (assuming there are cup-holders in the rear doors of your model Fusion).

I am sure another member will jump in if they have ideas.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

Found a back seat from online for $300 shipped. Just replaced the 60 side of the seat. The fabric all matches it was a easy job

Hi Lunareclipse. Congratulations. Happy to hear it worked out for you.

Good luck.
