2013 Fusion SE HVB battery question

Read about reset for the earlier years, and the 13 with 93,000 miles while still seeming to gets around 38 MPG, doesn't seem to build up the battery reserve anywhere near like it used to though.

Does anyone think it IS the battery going, or can this car also be programmed to believe it has a newer battery?

The only other issue we have is the no ability to adjust camber, but the kits for fixing that is around $80.00. For now, the car has excessive camber and will destroy the front tires in around 6,000 miles. Basically wears through on the inside edge of the front tires.

If it needs the HVB battery, new tires on front AND a  camber kit, I think it's time to trade it in

Tires and an $80 camber kit are in the zone of normal maintenance.  38 mpg is not that bad, not an indicator that your HVB is bad.   What other non-hybrid will give you 38 mpg?   Will it go into electric mode below 47 mph on a flat run?  If not you may need the one line of code rewrite to update the factory built in 10 year HVB unloader instruction.  A dealer won't do it, you need to contact key forum people, who can help you.

If you follow this other thread you will see that looks like Ford released a TSB addressing the battery age problem:

The TSB applies to 2010-2012 MYs only.  The OP's is a 2013.

Hybrids are not designed to normally fully charge the HVB. Something around 50% is the norm. That is so regenerative energy can be stored. Several high speeds stops or a significant downhill can be accommodated with a 50% battery. I'm not sure what the display says for 2012+ but with 2010-12 the norm is 50%.
