rbelote86
Anyone know what type of nylon inserts that are ROUND can be used on the back of my 2016 Fusion SE for the lower license plate holes that currently have those stupid rubber nipples? My holes are ROUNDS under those and NOT square like a lot of others!
andyross
Can you simply screw into the support? Maybe drill a small hole first.
Ponyguy
I mentioned my "fix" to the same problem I had on my Grand Marquis about 18 years ago. When I saw that this large near-luxury sedan used only 2 screws to mount the plate, I was disappointed in the cheap-ness of the design. I went to a car parts store and found a license plate mounting kit that included some square plastic/nylon inserts that plugged into the potential car's mounting area. My Mercury had little rubber bumpers which I removed, then squared the little holes to the proper size with a file to accept the square inserts. I used stainless screws to mount the plate, so no rust occurred. Bingo!
