Bronecki
Hello All! New to this forum, I searched, went through about 10 pages of hits and could not find any info around this topic. The 2020 SE AWD 2.0 does not come with the LED DRL, and for some reason that makes me very mad :) I really want the LED DRL on my headlamps. I see multiple products on Ebay, but I am not one to trust random Chinese suppliers / products without a recommendation. Is it possible to switch out the OEM non-LED DRL headlamps for my Fusion model with an aftermarket or even an OEM replacement for a Hybrid or Titanium that has the LED DRL into the SE? I found something like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2Pcs-For-Ford-Fusion-Headlights-assembly-All-Led-Lens-Projector-LED-DRL-2017-20/184167814111?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D20160908110712%26meid%3Ddcb427059e7c455a8352c6fc76ff014c%26pid%3D100677%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D30%26mehot%3Dlo%26sd%3D352726211609%26itm%3D184167814111%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2386202%26algv%3DSimplAMLv5PairwiseWeb&_trksid=p2386202.c100677.m4598 Any thoughts or suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated and thank you all in advance for your help!
Droskee24
Back when I worked for Ford and they did the redesign for the F150s so 2015 I believe. The biggest mistake they did IMO was they no longer allowed you to order or buy the HID/LED headlights to put on trim levels that didn’t have them. The only way to get them was by getting a 502a package or higher which is at the minimum another $8000 more than the popular 302a package. So to have them add it to one at the dealership will actually cost you around $15,000 for HID/LED headlights. Seems crazy but the reason why is they have to rewire the entire vehicle to add Fords HID/LED and also keep the original warranty. Long story short, this pissed a lot of people off, So I did some looking around and found a website that was called, retro or retrofit.....something, I don’t remember exactly but they claimed to have a direct aftermarket replacement and I sent the information in to have Ford look at and they approved it which meant it wouldn’t effect the factory warranty at all, and I want to say the cost for both sides was around $1500 or something like that. Anyways it saves you thousands of dollars if you really want HID/LED headlights!!!
Bronecki
@Droskee24 thank you very much for your response. Unfortunately, I could not find the headlights based on the information you provided. Yes, it does suck that I cannot easily upgrade the headlamps to include an LED DRL.
