Hi guys, Im looking for some wisdom.

Recently I tried to update the sync version of my fusion 2013, Bluetooth and everything was fine but I wanted to install the update.

Problem is, while installing the update I turned off the engine, by mistake and the installation process was interrupted, after that the screen doesn't show the menu of the buttons "phone and media", if I push any of this buttons the screen just blink and show me the radio station, and when I tried to hit the menu button only show the menu of the radio and audio station, I don't have access to do a master reset or anything related to sync.

So far I've tried by disconnecting the battery ( positive and negative) , disconnect and connect the fuse 32 and 33 without luck. Radio, CD, Sirius and clock menu are working properly.

Hi ManuMont. Just a few questions. First, was this the official, Ford factory SYNC update, from the Ford Owners SYNC update website for your Fusion?

Next, have you tried to reinstall the update? If not, I would recommend you try that first. Plan a 1+ hour drive to somewhere. Follow the install instructions. Start the car, plug in the USB and allow the installation to fully complete this time.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

Yes, I downloaded from the ford website using my VIN number. I have tried to reinstall using the usb port, but nothing happen, and the stereo doesnt alllow me to acces the phone or media menu in order torequest the install from the menu.

Should i just insert the usb even if nothing happen on the screen? ill try anyways as you mentioned guys.

Note: I notice that the controls from the steering wheel are useless, y can use only the menu for the cluster options but not audio. Fuses looks right but im not sure about the amperage

Hi ManuMont. I would say yes, plan an hour+ drive and try to reinstall.

The fact that the steering wheel controls are inoperative is troubling. However, since it seems to be only the audio controls, perhaps it will be corrected by a fully completed installation.

Update: I change the fuse 32 now I can change tracks, up and down the volume from the steering wheel. But voice commands and sync option on screen are still unavailable, I read that maybe the APIM module it's faulty but I don't find any instructions to check the condition of the APIM. Thanks guys I'll do more research, and update if I find a solution
