akirby
Sounds like you added the transmission fluid to the engine oil by accident.
Doug.Wyder
No I didn"t add tranny oil to the engine please lol give me a little credit. The engine oil level has gone up and the tranny fluid level has gone down again Edited September 1, 2020 by Doug.Wyder
akirby
Well I’m having a hard time figuring out how those two fluids are mixing. They’re totally separate closed systems.
Doug.Wyder
okay so could some have crossed some lines when I had the power steering replaced?

No. Your car has electric power steering. There's no fluid involved. That aside, it wouldn't be possible with hydraulic PS either. As stated by akirby, there's no connection between the transmission and the engine's crankcase. Maybe if the trans cooler was leaking into the radiator AND you had a blown head gasket or cracked block with contaminated coolant leaking into a cylinder. The odds of that scenario, however, are about the same as winning the Powerball. Does it smoke on startup? Have you had the car looked at professionally?
Doug.Wyder
I was just wondering when they replaced the rack that they had to undo some lines and crossed them. The car runs fine no smoke and the anti freeze is clean. I am in the process of taking it in just don't want to get hosed. akirby
Maybe you could take a pic and point out where you added the trans fluid?

What lines do you think it's possible to cross?
