ABS, AdvanceTrac and Wrench warning lights intermittent

2010 Ford Fusion. Twice in recent days shortly after start-up in the morning I got the ABS, Advancetrac and wrench lights. I had brakes but without power assist. The first time this happened I drove it around the block and reparked it. Later in the day I restarted and drove with no issues and no warning lights. Today, I had a similar issue but went ahead and drove to work. At lunch, everything was back to normal, no lights and properly functioning brakes. I suspect a wheel speed sensor. Am I on the right track?

Hi DBerry. Could be a wheel speed sensor.

And although it seems many of us fall back on failing batteries in cases like this (for good reason), it could be something as simple as a failing battery. So...the usual question: How old is the battery? If it is older than 3-4 years, you got your moneys worth and it should probably be replaced. So have it professionally load tested. You can find coupons on the Ford Owners website for a free battery test.

Hopefully one of our tech members will join the conversation and provide more specific information. Keep us updated and good luck.

Hi DBerry,

Is this still a problem? Did you get it fixed? It sounds like this Ford recall 19S54. 2006-2010 Fusion etc. the ABS - HCU unit gets a kind of corrosion.

Check out this thread:
