FusionDood
The driver side (always the driver side ? in my 2010 doesn't work. I have removed the seat but I don't have a service manual. The light on the dash will come on for a couple seconds then go out,the passenger side works fine,so I'm assuming all fuses are good. Can some one tell me where the module is located? There is nothing under the seat except the motors and a couple connectors, one large one that I assume powers everything and a small one for the air bag. I had an issue with the blower fan last year and the problem was a melted connector to the motor module ( cheap plastic probably drew too much current and toasted it) I'm thinking it may be the seat problem also but don't know where it's located. I want to use an ohm meter and check for a possible broken wire in the seat element itself but have no clue on what pins on the plug to check. Can some one post a picture of the seat wiring for me...maybe???? What else should I look at? TIA! Jim

To diagnose that, you may need to remove the seat upholstery and look for a burned spot. Good luck.
FusionDood
Thanks...that's why I want to know what pins in the connector go to the heat element so I can use an ohm meter to determine if there is,indeed,a break in the system, before I try and remove the cushion skin..it would suck if I removed it for no reason. Is the skin attached with hog wire loops or is it just a snap fit? Thanks, Jim

Sorry, I can't help you with the pinouts/wire diagrams. Hopefully one of our tech members may jump in and be able to help you with the pinouts. Good luck. drolds1
This is a fairly common problem with 1st-gen Fusions and has been discussed in the forums over the years. Here's a thread on replacing the heat element and what's entailed in removing the upholstery for access to it.
