Rulli
I have a 2014 Fusion SE with heated seats and the driver side doesn't warm up at all? I've noticed it since its getting colder and I couldn't feel anything but the passenger is fine. Plus my seats to be really low and doesn't really match the passenger seat with the amount of cushion. Is there any way that I can replace that myself?

The problem can be in various places. A bad switch, blown fuse, short in the wiring, loose connector etc. It can also be a broken/shorted wire in the heating grid located in the seat. It is not a completely uncommon issue. Can you replace the seat bottom/seat? It all depends on your skill level and whether you can find a suitable seat bottom/cushion or full seat replacement, either new or used from a Salvage Yard/online seller etc. Perhaps one of our tech members will jump in with some diagnostic suggestions. Let us know how you make out and good luck.
Rulli
The light will come on and stay on for however long I want it to but I don't feel anything at all. would you recommend just replacing the entire seat? it wouldn't be too hard since its just a couple bolts and connectors.

Hi Rulli. No, I would not blindly recommend anything over the Internet that may cost someone money and not help. There is no way of properly diagnosing this over the Internet, so just replacing the seat is not a guarantee of fixing your problem, and quite possibly a waste of money if the issue is in the switch, wiring, connectors etc. So I will go over the options I can think of and let you make your best decision. The least costly option would be to remove the seat/seat bottom cover, then inspect to see if there is a broken heater grid wire (it will often leave a small burn spot). If there is, you can simply replace the heating grid and that should take care of the issue. However, in most cases, when a heater grid wire is broken, the indicator light will usually come on for a second or two, then go out. So that is a problem, since yours seems to stay on. However, there are two issues here, since you also feel the seat padding is worn and would like to fix that. Again, we can't determine that over the Internet. So in that case, replacing the seat might not be a bad idea. However, while that may fix the cushion height issue, it may not fix the inoperative heated seat if it is a switch, wiring, or connector issue etc. Also, keep in mind it may not be easy to find a used, heated seat from a suitable model year, which also matches your vehicle upholstery, although you can try to find a suitable seat and then put your old seat cover bottom and back on it. May need to switch over the plastic trim too. This would all seem to come down to how much time, effort and money you want to put into this. Hopefully one of our tech members will jump in with some diagnostic suggestions which may make this easier for you. Keep us updated and good luck. drolds1
I agree with bbf2530 in that your first step should be to check for a broken grid in the seat heating pad. However, as bbf mentioned, when this is the issue, normally the indicator light will be illuminated only briefly. Yours is staying on. If that isn't the source, then the factory troubleshooting guide should be followed. Possible sources are: Quote Wiring, terminals or connectors Heater mat FCIM (front controls interface module) IOW, to properly diagnose your problem, the trouble codes need to be pulled. A regular code reader doesn't have this capability. The dealer has the diagnostic equipment for this. A well-equipped, modern independent shop might also. Therefore, further confirming what bbf2530 has said, just replacing the seat may do nothing for your problem and you might be throwing good money after bad. Further complicating the issue is that you'd like to even out the height for the front seats. This could be accomplished by adding to or changing the foam cushion, if that's the source of the problem. That can be done by an automotive trim shop. Do keep us posted.
