coolant leak 2012 fusion 2.5

Antifreeze leak under throttle body dripping on top of transmission. Looks it's coming from a plastic box where a coolant hose goes in and out.

Very difficult to see. Hoses are not leaking. The box is mounted on the side of engine block and seems to be leaking between the block and the plastic box.

Car has only 69,000 miles on it. The leak is on the drivers side.

Thank you Fusionmanor. Looks like that may be the problem.

I will take it to the Ford dealer up the street. Any idea what it may cost to fix?

Hi ken123. First, hopefully the ""Water Outlet Connector Adapter" is the issue. If it is, I would recommend you call several of your local Ford Dealers (if there is more than one), ask for the Service Department, and ask how much they will charge to replace that part. They may/will transfer you between the Parts Department and back, but it is always a good idea to get several estimates. Have your VIN handy when you call.

Also, if you have a local shop/Tech you can trust, they will most likely charge you less. Get estimates.

If you can, I would also recommend stopping by to ask your questions, instead of calling. I find I always get better service when face to face, as opposed to the phone.

Keep us updated and good luck.

Thank you Fusionmanor for your advice. I spent several hours with mirrors and lights trying to locate the leak, almost impossible to get

a good visual look but that appears to be where it's coming from.

I'm getting too old to be turning wrenches plus I'm tired of working on this car.

I can't begin to list the problems I've had with this car. Axle shaft leaks three times, belt tensioners, AC problems etc.

That's what the Ford mechanic who changed this part told me, BTW my wallet is $400 lighter  with the cost of the labor, the part, two hoses and coolant.

I had the Orange coolant in it and he added the Yellow coolant after the part was changed which means I now have half Orange and half Yellow collant

in it now. Do you think that may be a problem?

Hi ken123. Has your Fusion ever had the coolant properly flushed and changed before? If not, it is overdue and I would recommend you have it properly flushed and filled to get all the old coolant out. If you are not the original owner, and are not sure if it has ever been properly flushed and filled, do it now.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.
