Coming home from work at 2:30am a deer came up an embankment out of nowhere.

Good news is the payout was 3k more than what I owed.  So I used it as a down payment for a 2019 Mustang Ecoboost Premium Convertible with 16K miles on it.

If anyone wants to take a stab at my old Fusion it's up on Co-Part now at a lot north of Minneapolis MN.

Good news is you are not injured. The airbags did not not deploy? I saw the picture of the damaged Fusion. Perhaps collision sensors are not in the impact zone.

Hi twiggy. The airbags should not go off in a deer versus car collision like that. It was not a severe enough collision and the system did its job correctly.

To explain...just think about it: What good would airbags exploding in Rocket_Pak's face have accomplished in that situation? He was safe, unhurt, and able to safely pull over. However, if the airbags had exploded in his face, he may very likely have lost control of the car and actually injured himself or others, instead of being able to steer the car safely to the side of the road and stop.

Hope this explanation makes sense.

Good luck.

Wasn't a hard enough impact to trip the sensors.  I barely felt it.  The washer fluid reservoir is right there and the hit wasn't even hard enough to break that.

Wow, that deer came out of nowhere!

Where I live, most people would have loaded the deer in the trunk and took it home for breakfast! ?

Too bad about your Fusion,. but sounds like you got a nice upgrade out of it.

Only good thing to come out of covid.  Used car prices are up.  Paid $12K for it in 2017 with 35K miles.  Got junked out for $10,900 with 85K miles.

The Mustang was a pretty good price because it's and Ecoboost convertible for sale in Wisconsin right before winter...

Hi R_P. Well, at least something good came out of it and you are happy...and were unhurt.

I can understand your happiness too. I had a long string of Mustang GT's in my younger days. 5 of them and every single one was black. ??

Good luck with your new Mustang!

The mistake was letting Enterprise Rental Car talk me in to getting the 2020 Ecoboost convertible while my Fusion was in the shop.

Fell in love with it.  And it's Girlfriend approved.
