bligityblaow
Hi all dealing with the p2111 and I belive p2042. P2111 is a throttle plate stuck open and unsure of the p2042 but I know it's the limp mode code. I listened to most forums online and bought a new throttle body. Unfortunately I bought a ultra power brand from rock Auto, installed it, and low and behold still stuck in limp mode. I disconnected the negative before installation and jumped the positive side of the battery to the disconnected ground cable. After reconnecting I placed the key in the on position and slowly depressed and released the gas pedal. After doing this process the 2009 ford fusion with a 2.3 duratech is still in limp mode. Where to go from here? Assume the new throttle body was doa and buy one from the stealership? Assume the ultra trash is ultra trash, clean the old one and reinstall? Should I be suspicious of the pcm? I checked the connectors and wiring harness visually and they seemed in great condition. Please before I get the match, help.
bbf2530
Hi bligity. Welcome to the Ford Fusion Forum and sorry to hear you are having issues. As an FYI...the "Site Feedback and Help" sub-forum is for issues and suggestions concerning the Ford Fusion Forum website itself. Therefore, your post will be moved to the "General Powertrain Discussion" sub-forum. Regarding your DTC codes: P2111 - https://www.obd-codes.com/p2111 P2042 - https://www.obd-codes.com/p2042 Seems you may have wrong code as to DTC 2042, since it states it is exclusively a clean burning diesel engine code, as it states in the first paragraph. Good luck. Edited December 11, 2020 by bbf2530
bbf2530
Hi bligity. Just to add to my above reply and our PM discussion: I would also recommend replacing the aftermarket "Ultra Power" ETB with the correct Motorcraft one. You can order one from any of the many online Ford parts sellers for less than a Dealership. Other than that, I can not recommend any better advice than following the trouble shooting advice in the link to the P2111 DTC code I provided above. Keep us updated and good luck.
