BikerOH
Hi. I have followed instructions on adding fog lights to my 2020 Fusion SE that did not.come with them. I have standard halogen headlights with no LED signature lighting. I've added the new headlight switch and wiring harness and mounted the LED fogs. I have used Forscan to enable them as well as the dash indicator. I verified the fog light plugs have power when the switch is turned on. However, the fogs never turn on. Even if power is applied directly to them. Any ideas?
BikerOH
Well, since regular bulbs don't care about positive and negative but LEDs do...I took out the little white sleeve that then allowed me to attach the connector 180 degrees. Fog lights work now!
indifferent
How much work was this. Recently picked up a 2020 SE as a third car due to them pretty much giving it away and am contemplating adding them. I am fairly mechanically inclined. Bigger concern is how long it takes i have three little ones so spare time is a premium. Thanks in advance, E
BikerOH
To do it right, you better have a half day and an extra person (see picture). If you don't care about breaking the tabs on the blank inserts on the car now and just want to wire tie up the new harness, I suppose you could leave the front bumper on and do it from underneath after removing both halves of the plastic shield only. Was it worth it? Well, probably not worth what it cost, but the fun project and the look after was. If you want to go for it, I have a good list of part numbers. I put the LED fogs in, you could do halogen cheaper.
indifferent
Step one I need to figure out if it has the harness already installed. If so I may tackle it.
BikerOH
Also, check pin 14 on the headlight switch harness for a gray wire. That is the fog light control wire. If you don't have that, then you probably don't want to do it.
Jkthibault
What was the part number for the wiring harness?
BikerOH
For my car, since it had the active grill shutters, I used hg9z-15k867-j Some of the mounting points for the harness needed altered though.
Jkthibault
What needed altering the harness or how it was fastened to the cars body? I have the same car a 2020 fusion se. I just want to make sure I get the right harness. Thanks.
BikerOH
The prickly things were not all in the same location. I bought more and wire tied them to the harness where needed.
Jkthibault
Ok. Thanks. I thought you had to modify the harness itself!!!
darrikel
I've just added the factory fog lights to my 2020 SE. Everything works fine but I can't enable the indicator light on my dash. I bought Forscan and followed instructions I saw on a Youtube video but it was for a 2017 model. Can anyone help with the directions on how to enable the indicator light on the 2020SE using Forscan. BTW, I'm brand new with Forscan.

Did you replace the headlight switch, with the proper headlight switch designed for Fusions with factory foglights? If yes, then hopefully one of our tech members will jump in to help with more specific information. Good luck. darrikel
Thanks for the response. I did replace the headlight switch as well. I actually work at the dealership and there is no way for them to enable the dash light with their systems. It seems the only way is Forscan, which I now have and downloaded to my laptop. I just don't know which numbers to change in module.
darrikel
Never mind. I got back into the Forscan and figured it out. Thanks
