Deep indent in leather seats

Hello guys! So last night after I came home from work I accidentally left some items on my passenger seat which cause this nasty looking indent. The leather is not ripped at all just slightly stretched and the foam underneath doesn’t seem to be dented in. Does anybody have any advice on getting the leather to back to normal? Or is this something that will go away after a few days in the sun and heat.

Hi Koffinz. Should go away on its own. If not, you can try working out the indentation in the leather with a dab or two of leather conditioner and your fingers (when the leather is warm). Just massage the area lightly with your fingers, sort of as you would if you were trying to work a dent out of a plastic bottle.

If that dos not work, stop by an automotive upholstery shop and see if they have any suggestions.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.

As bbf2530 says, it will probably work itself out after a few days in the sun.  If not, this can be remedied with a hair dryer or a heat gun and manual manipulation. See this video as an illustration. There are others on YouTube. It just takes patience and care not to burn the surface.  If you don't want to tackle this yourself, take bbf2530's advice and consult an automotive trim shop.

@bbf2530thanks! Is there any particular brand of leather conditioner you would recommend?

Hi Koffinz. I use the "Meguiar's" and "Tanners Preserve" brands. However there are many good brands, such as "Lexol", "Mother's" etc.

Two things. First...keep in mind it will probably disappear on its own. Second...if you can not wait for it to disappear on its own, then be gentle. You do not want to use too much pressure or rubbing.

Let us know how you make out and good luck.
