Koffinz5280 Posted January 11, 2021 Share Posted January 11, 2021 Hello. I last week the check engine light came on as I was on my way to work in my 2015 SE 1.5L eco boost. I stopped to get gas on my way home that evening and had trouble getting the car to start after I filled up. It would crank then die... it did this three times then started up strong. I put her on the code reader first thing when I got home and it came back with code P1450. (Unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum) From my understanding the culprit could be a bad purge valve or some type of solenoid. Has anyone had this issue or have any light to shed on the situation?! theandies Posted June 28, 2021 Share Posted June 28, 2021 I get the same thing but only when driving. I've never had the it won't start after filling up but I've read that it's common. What happens is the system closes a valve and draws a vacuum on the evap hoses and tank. If the vacuum doesn't bleed off to a certain level in a certain time it post this code. theandies Posted September 14, 2021 Share Posted September 14, 2021 So far no codes have come back after replacing purge valve. Easy job, take the foam cover off and it's on the drivers side under the intake pipe. One thing is these valve come already assembled with the hoses etc. I found just the valve on the big A as looking at some of the videos on getting to one of the lines is a nightmare. What I did was cut the line off the old valve the used some old rubber vacuum tube I have laying around in the garage and made a short piece to adapt the new purge valve to the original lines. Couple of zip-ties later and it's installed. It all took about 20 minutes minus the time it took to find my old vacuum hose stash. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
