willyro24
Hey guys. I just got a Fusion about a year ago. I have a 2018 Hybrid. I love the car. However, My car has the regular stereo. It’s the one thing I dislike about the car because 1) The 4 inch screen kills me & 2) I have to look at my phone for maps. I bought the car used so I didn’t have the option to upgrade the technology package. What are my options for upgrading? I was looking into buying a touchscreen stereo, but forgot I probably would need a different dash kit. I just honestly have no idea how the whole upgrading my dash works. Will I also have to buy another dash kit on top of a new stereo? Will I have to go to a Ford dealership and spend an arm and a leg for a whole upgrade? Or do I just really have no options at this point? My technology package is standard. Anything would help. Thank you all in advance. akirby
Why do people buy cars without features they really want? I never understood that. You could go aftermarket but the dash surround will be a pain. You can upgrade to sync 3 with a turnkey system but it’s expensive - $1500-$2000 and I don’t know if that includes the dash trim. Or you could find the used components yourself and install it but then you have to get the sync 3 software installed and updated. Do a google search - I’m sure lots of folks have done this or at least discussed it. Good luck.
alcohenusa
Hi Willyro24. I would take a look at crutchfield.com or call Crutchfield for live consultation. They should be able to help you put together a system that would work for you. If you buy from them, they provide full instructions for a self installation.

Multitask
This does not 100% apply for your year, but it's a start http://www.2gfusions.net/showthread.php?tid=4050
Audiophile14Fusion
The only kit available is the metra axxcess 99-5841B. It's $499. It's complete. It will give you aftermarket climate control, retain all chimes and provide a home for a double or single DIN head unit. You will loose 3.5mm aux jack and usb. But you can easily tie them into the aftermarket head unit if it has inputs. I recommend for under 500 a pioneer avh-2500nex (cd/dvd) or a dmh-2550nex (mechless, no cd drive) short chassis. If budget permits $500 plus for head unit jump to pioneer avh or dmh 4400nex-4500nex. Professional Installer for 20+ years as well as a competitor.
