Majordad1
2010 Fusion...we lost one of our keys a few weeks ago. I went to a dealership and had them make me an ignition only key...no remote entry. We now have 2 keys..one is a remote entry and the other is the ignition only key the dealership made for us. I just bought a Key FOB on Amazon and want to program it. I have looked at there seems to be several possible ways to program the new key. What I am afraid of is ruining the keys I have. Plus, can I program the new Key FOB using the 2 keys I have?
akirby
Yes you can program it yourself but follow the instructions in the owners manual. It wont mess up the current keys.
ltng7679
Hello - saw this post and had a question. I have a 2010 Fusion SEL. I have both my original keys but one just stopped being able to start the car. I can still lock and unlock the doors with it, but when starting, the key turns dash lights up but no starting. Anything I can do with just the one key to get the bad one to work again? Thanks

Probably not, since the system needs two working/programmed IKT keyfobs for programming/reprogramming, and it seems your second one is not operational. However, you can try. Follow the programming instruction in your Owners Manual, first inserting the IKT that works. Follow that up with the second, non-working IKT. The reprogramming process will either reprogram both to work, or refuse to. If it refuses to, then the working IKT will still work like it did before, and the second one will not. If that happens, you will need to have your Ford Dealer try to reprogram them to your car, keeping in mind the second one may need to be replaced. Let us know how you make out and good luck.
