Tennesseestorm
Good morning, 2015 Fusion SE 2.0L (standard radio screen) has an issue where the radio screen is blacked out. The radio and buttons work fine, just the screen is blank. Can someone suggest what to check or does the radio need to be replaced? Lastly, is this fairly easy swap out? I have access to an identical parts car with a good radio. Many thanks!
sacojim
I have the same issue with the screen going dark but the buttons work. Just started doing this the other day. Then the screen came back on while I was driving. Then after a few minutes it went dark again. Could not find any information on this problem on line so far. Any other people have this issue?

sacojim
I took my 2016 Ford Fusion to the dealer last week for the display problem. After a two hour labor cost of $129 per hour, they told me it was the display that was bad and it would cost me $1102.29 to replace. The cost of the display alone they said was $678.00. I told them to button up the car and I would pick it up. I'm going to see if I can purchase a new display myself which I have found on line for under $200 and install it myself. I have done this type of work before on cars and found a good Youtube video on how to get it removed. I will do a follow up to this once I get around to doing it.

The hardest part was removing the trim pieces so I could get to the display. Just under an hour to do.

sacojim
It's an easy fix and I'm sure you could do it. Well I wish the next problem with my 2016 Fusion was as easy to fix. In March 2023 it just stopped running. I used the car and a few hours later I went to start it and all the engine did was crank but didn't start. Towed it to the dealer and they had it for 4 months and couldn't get it going even with tech help from the Ford factory. I ended up getting it towed to a Subaru dealer who gave me $1000 for it and I have a 2021 Legacy. The last Ford I will buy!
