2011 FFH Service the CVT transmission or no?

I have a 2011 Ford Fusion Hybrid that I took to the ford dealership to get an oil change. They told me that at my current mileage (120k) that they recommend I get the transmission serviced and they quoted me $199.95.

I told them I thought it was a sealed, non-serviceable transmission. They said while it's true that they can't do a traditional pan drop & filter change, they can still remove old fluid and replace with new. I looked up Fords maintenance schedule for my car and nothing about transmission service is listed on there. Is it recommended to do fluid changes on these CVT transmissions or are they just trying to get me to pay for unnecessary work?

Here's what my owners manual says for my 2010:

Checking electronically controlled Continuously Variable
Transmission (eCVT)
The eCVT does not have an underhood transmission fluid dipstick.
Refer to your scheduled maintenance information for scheduled
intervals for fluid checks and changes. Your transmission does not
consume fluid. It is designed to be filled for life. However, the fluid level
should be checked if the transmission is not working properly, or if you
notice some sign of fluid leakage.

Not sure where you were looking but the owner's manual is crystal clear - 150K miles.

Thank You! You are correct. I was looking at the maintenance schedule on the Ford website and when I clicked 120k miles (current mileage at which dealer is recommending fluid change) it wasn't showing up but when I click on 150k miles, it does.

I'm just wondering why the dealership is recommending it now? I guess it wouldn't hurt anything to get it done a little early

Just searched for the 2011 FFH online and it lists what I posted above. If you have the hybrid you have a eCVT and no change is recommend unless you have a problem. Link to the manual is (page 307):

TRANSMISSION FLUID

Checking electronically-controlled Continuously Variable Transmission (eCVT)

The eCVT does not have an underhood transmission fluid dipstick. Your transmission does not consume fluid. It is designed to be filled for life. However, the fluid level should be checked if the transmission is not working properly, or if you notice some sign of fluid leakage.

Transmission fluid should be checked and, if required, fluid should be added by an authorized dealer.

Do not use supplemental transmission fluid additives, treatments or cleaning agents. The use of these materials may affect transmission operation and result in damage to internal transmission components.

And the documentation is a bit unclear since it lists auto transmission and manual transmission. Neither are in the  hybrid.

They still recommend changing the fluid at 150K miles.   When they say designed to be filled for "life" they really mean no maintenance is required - you should never have to add fluid.  But you do still need to change it at 150K.

The 150K change is for "automatic" transmissions. The FFH has an eCVT which is not an "automatic". There is hardly anything to wear in an eCVT. There are no belts, clutches, bands, valves or torque converters. Only gears rolling on gears.
