Jerry j
hi all I have a 2007 ford fusion sel 2.3l fnr5 automatic transmission. I got code p0757 shift solenoid B stuck on, p0732 gear 2 incorrect ratio, p0734 gear 4 incorrect ratio. Transmission has been swapped out twice didn't solve the issue so now it wont shift to 5th gear it says in 3rd or 4th gear. Anyone had this issue and how did you fix it.
nanookvd
If you've swapped the transmission twice, I'd look into changing out the TCM with a new or used one to see if that was the original problem. The FNR5's are excellent transmissions when maintained properly but the TCM can make it appear otherwise.
Jerry j
Thought about that when I get one. Dealer says TCM are not reprogram units on older model until 2013 on up but, I'll see about it. Thx.
nanookvd
Correct. You need to replace it, not reprogram it. I found mine on e-bay that was pulled from a donor car. Not the easiest to access being up by the brake pedal but just disconnect the battery, pop off the 2 connectors, and swap.
Jerry j
excellent. Mine is on order from ebay.. some says flash it, some says plug n play but, I'll see what happens when i get it.

nanookvd
Sorry to hear that. I assume you disconnected the battery to clear all the codes? Did the dealer offer any advice/assistance since you've replaced both the transmission and TCM? It may be time to have them perform a diagnostic to see what they discover.
Jerry j
yes i did disconnected the negative battery cable and did even erase the codes but, the codes pop back up. No suggestions from the dealer and yes they wanted to do more diagnose but, just got the car out of there and just don't want to spend more money on it maybe later in the future. Thank you.
nanookvd
I started having problems with the Orange Wrench & rough shifting on my vehicle again. I disconnected the battery and let it sit overnight. Reconnected the battery and car worked fine for about 20 miles. Knew it wasn't a mechanical issue. Seemed heat was affecting some electrical component. Took a hunch that the battery was getting weak being almost 3 years old. Replaced the battery which solved the issue.
