Are you still within the 5 year/60,000 mile Powertrain Warranty?
drolds1
Before you get back to us with a response to bbf2530's question, first know that your car doesn't have a separate IAC valve, so looking for a part# for one is going to be futile. This function is integral to the ETB, in conjunction with the ECM. Who diagnosed your problem as a bad ETB? When you replaced the ETB, did you perform the ETB "Relearn" procedure? Since you've replaced the ETB and still have the problem, there are 2 possibilities: either the replacement ETB is defective or the problem isn't with the ETB in the first place. All DTCs should be diagnosed by referring to the factory troubleshooting "tree." anything else is just guessing and replacing possibly good parts, only to find that the problem still persists, as in your case. For P0506: Obviously, you can eliminate 'sludged TB' and (maybe) 'damaged ETB.' Check for obvious intake restriction (plugged air filter) and vacuum leaks, such as a not fully latched airbox. Do you have any aftermarket parts on this car such as an intake or exhaust? Based on your screen name, I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you're into modding. So, the question is, is this car stock or have you done any of the above or more, such as a tune or some other performance enhancer? An honest answer may provide a clue. NOSBOYRACING
The mechanic that my friend brought it to said he needed a new throttle body. He replaced it and it ran the same. It had a check engine light and I scanned it and it tread three different versions of p0506. I thought that there was some kind of idle air control for the idle speeds. I told him to relearn the new throttle body. I’ll keep you guys posted. Thank you. I got the Nosboyracing from drag racing snowmobiles on asphalt 20 years ago.
