Donceee30
Asking a serious question here I bought a 2014 fusion se 2.5 fwd from an auction got a stupid deal on it 100k miles runs great, I want to swap the 2.5 n/a fwd out for the 2.0 ecoboost fwd engine/ecu,harness I seen both se trims look identical inside and out and both engines use the same exact transmission I was wondering how possible is this ? Seems like it should work also what are some other things I may need to keep the car running decent ? I got the car for 1800 bucks so I. Not really try to sell in go buy a car with a 2.0
akirby
It’s possible but I bet the gearing is different.
andyross
I bet it would be cheaper to just buy a 2.0 car. There may be many electronic, wiring, ECU, exhaust, heat shields, and who knows what different.

I would agree with what both akirby and andyross stated. Bottom line is...Almost anything can be done if you throw enough time, money and sweat into it. However, you would need to be prepared to spend a lot of money. Having to go a long period of time with no car (unless you have a second car). Lots of swearing and busted knuckles. And possibly a non or poorly operating car in the end despite it all. Even if it works, the gains will be minimal. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
Waldo
The price you paid for a car has no direct relation to it's value when you sell it. The difference in value between your car and a similar car with a 2.0L doesn't depend on the price you paid. The bottom line is the cost difference in trading your car for a 2.0L is still going to be less than the cost of acquiring and installing a 2.0L into the car you have unless you really do everything yourself. And that would include a lot of software programming, which chances are if you're asking on this forum, you don't have the experience or tools to do that.
