2016 Ford Fusion SE 1.5

Loss of power steering assist

No turn signals

No wipers,  unless on full blast

Maultiple service lights on

* Rear Parking aid fault

* emergency break malfunction

* Service advancetrac

* sterring assist

* abs lights

* service wrench

* trac control

* Airbag

But no codes

No check engine

Though it was maybe a fuse , checked fuses and changed any that did read out properly

Then thought maybe do a reset

Disconnected batt , held terminals together to drain down power to the pcm, let sit 24 hours.

Didn't work

Any other suggestions

Idk what else todo , only vehicle and I have 3 children and im a single father and fire fighter. Former cert  Diesel tech, so I kkow my way around a wrench I just need some insight.

Thank you !

Hi TT16. Hopefully another member, maybe a tech member, will jump in to help.'

In the meantime, the "Site Feedback and Help" sub-forum is for comments concerning the website itself. Therefore, your thread will be moved to the
"Maintenance, Recalls & TSB's (Technical Service Bulletins)" sub-forum.

Good luck.

My apologies,  ill transfer to a new post . Thank you !

Hi TT16. You do not need to do anything now. As mentioned, we already moved it to the proper sub-forum.

And it's okay, you're not the first to be confused.

Good luck. ?

I changed the battery a month ago whet this happened the first time .

Hi TT16. As akirby stated, the first place to look in a situation like this is usually an old/failing battery. But it seems that is ruled out by your replacement.

It could be any of the other possibilities you listed earlier. Or more than one. Or none.

Another possibility: With everyone driving less nowadays due to the pandemic, we hear more and more stories of chewed wires due to mice/squirrels, etc. This is due to them making nests in the engine compartments or other areas of vehicles which are sitting still far longer than in the past.

Perhaps remove the engine cover (if applicable) and carefully inspect the engine compartment. And also remove the underbody splash shields and inspect around from underneath. The problem is, a single chewed wire or wire harness can be difficult to see.

Other than that, Internet diagnosis is spotty at best, especially with this many issues.

Hopefully one of our tech members may have some better advice and weigh in.

Keep us updated and good luck.

I have checked everything,  I am a fire fighter/ emt . The car is used everyday even thru the pandemic. What I listed above is everything that is on my dash now. It's started out only doing it once in a blue moon , now it's been on for 4 days straight. New battery was installed hoping to fix the issue with no help. I attached some pics , my dash only had one light on and it was the check engine light because small evap leak.  But with all these lights and the turn signals,  wipers , and steering controls not working , mixed with advancetrac light, parking brake light , rear parking aid lights,, steering assist light, no power steering at all , and now the tire pressure light is on and off .

....with all this going on at the exact same time , I don't even know what to think or where to start. I thought maybe low voltage issue , but checked every fuse , every relay , and replaced the battery and it didn't fix. Now I'm think more along the line of maybe wheel speed sensor or hub..idk . Im just confused lol

Hi TT16. I understand your situation and thank you for your service. And others will certainly jump in to try and help if they feel they can.

The unfortunate reality is that there are very real limits to blind Internet diagnosis. Without having the car hands on and being able to use the proper diagnostic tools, anything we tell you is at best an educated guess. And most likely will simply lead to throwing parts and money at the problem.

Your best bet would be to have it looked at by a Ford Dealer or an independent shop/tech you can trust. I realize this may not be viable for you right now and understand if you don't, but it is the best advice I can give.

I am not trying to discourage you from asking for advice here and on other forums. Someone may take a lucky guess and get it right. However, the chances of getting an accurate diagnosis that would help guide you in the right direction is very limited.

It could be any single cause you have mentioned, or any combination. Or something as simple as a frayed wire somewhere, a loose connection, a bad ground etc.

I hope one of our tech members may jump in to help you further.

Keep us updated and good luck.

I'm at the point where I believe it's probably something rediculous,  cause all this together doesn't make much sense .  Like you said , could be a bad ground., Sensors , or both . I have a buddy coming with his snap on scanner to see if I can read all the PIDS and find out if that gives me any insight . I appreciate all your help. And I will keep every one updated , just incase someone else runs into this same problem.

  • 1 year later...

Did you ever fix this?  My 2015 is doing this now.  I took it to a local shop, they told me (after hooking it up to their computer) that they think it's the main computer and it should go to the dealer.

The battery has been replaced but now within the last year.  I am suspecting a wheel speed sensor as I have seen a lot of posts about that being the issue.

I do not want to take it to the dealer if possible.  The car has 146K on it.

Multiple service lights on - these come on ALL AT ONCE

* Rear Parking aid fault

* Service advancetrac

* steering assist

* abs lights

* trac control

* Airbag

Then after driving it for about 1/2 hour to 45 minutes the tire pressure light comes on along with the low tire pressure warning.

I charged the battery overnight and cleared the codes as i did not find any that made sense, it came back on within 1 mile.  To me, this seems to rule out the battery but not necessarily the charging system.

I fixed it!!

2015 Fusion 2.5 SE  146K miles with Michigan salt

I started by replacing my left front ABS sensor first but that didn't clear the fault. Like many others, my dash lit up all of a sudden with tons of warning messages. This happened on wet roads but based on what I found, dry roads would have also triggered it later. If I did it again, I would look for the wire issue first, don't waste the $40 on a single sensor.  Peel back the tape and look inside the corrugated plastic wrap. My break was about 4 or 5 inches from the end of the connector. Mine was in a very protected area yet still water got in due to a manufacturing cut in the purple wire casing. Mine was the drivers side front.  My guess is that whomever manufactures these for Ford has a process that holds the wire tight to add the connector or such.  With the amount of 2013 to 2016 fusion exhibiting these issues the fact that the wire cover was cut in a place that was under tape and under corrugated tube definitely points to a manufacturing issue.  Probably not Ford but a supplier.

I did need to clear the codes one I had spliced the wire with solder and shrink tube.
