Helixal
Alcohen, I think your suggestion may have, at least partly, Done the trick. With the fm radio playing I wen’t to settings, then radio and saw that “radio text” was already on. I turned it off first with the ignition only on and then with the engine running. I saw that some stations now displayed the rds data. The station that I normally listen to did not. Prior to this, station WQXR at first displayed 105.9, WQXR then added the phrase “ New York’s classical music station WQXR.com” a few days later. I know they are providing the artist and title info since I get it on my home radio. thanks, Al

If you see the data on other radios but not this vehicle for that particular station, I would first give it a little more time and if it does not start working, try the master reset. Be aware that if you do a master reset any settings you changed from default, some radio presets and Nav Favorites will need to be redone. The last time I did a master reset (previous to 21194), I lost my SXM presets, but the regular radio ones remained in place. Keep us updated on what happens.

No problem...just a series of miscommunications. When you stated "Yes it shows 21194 for my 2020 fusion with sync 3.4.", I did not know whether "it" was referring to your SYNC settings screen or the SYNC update website. I guessed wrong that it referred to your SYNC settings screen. Glad we have that figured out now. Also happy to hear that alcohenusa's suggestion seems to have helped. Keep us updated and good luck.
Helixal
I did do a reset in the audio portion and an rescan of stations. I lost all of my presets. I think you may be referring to a reset of the entire sync system. I’m guessing this will take you back to an early sync 3.4 state prior to any of the version updates.

The master reset does not take you back to an earlier version. It just resets the system to the defaults and erases your personal settings (including removing your phone profiles).
Helixal
Thanks Al, I’ll give it some time then maybe do a master reset- since it doesn’t sound too dramatic. I’ll keep everyone updated. Im just wondering- does sync control car safety features such as forward collision warning? After an earlier sync update by the dealer that system became more sensitive, it seemed. Al

No, SYNC 3.0-3.4 does not control those safety features/functions, engine functions/parameters, etc. However, there are sensitivity settings in the Drivers Information Center. Perhaps they were changed/reset at some point. You should double check them. Good luck. Edited September 12, 2021 by bbf2530

Multitask
I think Ford/Lincoln should call it 'settings reset' because Factory Reset makes people think it's taken them back to how it came from the factory
