STanley_the_ST Posted September 3, 2021 Share Posted September 3, 2021 I don’t know if this has been done, and it’s only out of desperation and money saving that I’m planning it, but im researching doing a backwards front conversion on my 2012 Fusion SE.ive searched junkyards and pull a parts in 4 states with no luck on a bumper cover or headlights, and i don’t have the dough to purchase a bumper or headlights new. The mounting points for the fenders, hood, radiator core support, and bumper cover all match up, I’m just wondering if anyone has done this before? Hi STanley. First...Why can't you simply source used parts from a 2010-2012 Fusion, instead of going back to the 2006-2009 models? Salvage Yards, Carparts.com etc. Okay, to your questions: Yes, it is possible that someone has performed a "backwards" conversion. However, I have not heard of it, since most owners usually want to swap to the newer version. Can it be done?
