2019 1.5L Ecoboost SEL - {Normal?} Audible Clicking While Idle

Recommended Posts

Ok Guys, I'm new to this forum & a noob to this "F๏rd H๏rde" in general....

Thanks in advance for y'all's advice.

As mentioned in title, I own a white 2019 1.5L Ecoboost Fusion SEL. Milage : 28098  Maintenance is up to date as I handle it personally. Carfax shows it's history as a Enterprise rental in Ohio until a minor Front passenger side collision. Cosmetic damage only, nothing mechanial. Car repaired; sold to dealership; bought by me @ around 18,500 mi. So today I did scheduled maintenance # 2 since I've had her & after pouring in my fresh 5w20 it seemed as if it was running louder than I remembered; not only that but there is an intense CLICKING that is even louder than that. This was coming from the small plastic 'WhatTheFucksIt' that can be seen in the pic & heard in the vid clip.

1. I'm trying to identify 'said' part & find out if it's supposed to behave in this manner or if its malfunctioning?

2. Is my Engine idling abnormally loud or is it perfectly fine & I was tripping earlier?

Hi 502P and welcome to the Ford Fusion Forum. While it is difficult to discern sounds over the Internet, it seems like normal ticking/clicking from the high pressure fuel injectors. Normal for DI (Direct injection) engines.

On a related note: Is your 2019 Fusion still within the time limitations of the 3 year/36,000 mile New Vehicle Warranty, and/or the 5 year/60,000 mile Powertrain Warranty periods? You are certainly within the mileage limitations.

If yes, and you still feel something is wrong, I would recommend making a service appointment to have it looked at and corrected if necessary.

Welcome again, keep us updated, and good luck.

I am definitely within both the time frame AND under the milage limitation of a warranty of that nature, but, I am not 100% certain that I was even enrolled in such a program to begin with; as I stated before, It was bought from a "used" lot so I'm gonna look at my reciepts & literature\paperwork  that accompanied it to find out for sure... Thanks for Bringing that to my attention too my friend..

Greatly appreciated?

Hi 502P. You do not need to be enrolled in a "program" for the New Vehicle and Powertrain Warranties to be valid. They limits begin the day the first buyer purchased the vehicle and those warranties are valid for all subsequent owners, until the expiration date/mileage.

And it does not matter if you purchased from a used car lot, the previous owner, or wherever. As long as the car is not a Salvage Title etc. Time and mileage is all that matters.

While you are at it, I would also recommend you register on the Ford Owners website, located here: https://www.ford.com/support/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzcu1hbzp8wIVAZKGCh1m2QF8EAAYASAAEgI84fD_BwE&searchid=160581195|13270894275|&ef_id=EAIaIQobChMIzcu1hbzp8wIVAZKGCh1m2QF8EAAYASAAEgI84fD_BwE:G:s&s_kwcid=AL!2519!3!267771591263!e!!g!!ford owners

Let us know how you make out and good luck.
