Dutch505
I attempted to start my 2019 Fusion Hybrid today and had absolutely no power. No lights, all displays are black. I cannot get into the truck to even check the voltage on the low voltage battery as the trunk opener is not functioning and the remote trunk button does not work as there is no power to the solenoid. Anyone with any experience with his? Dutch
drolds1
I don't have a Hybrid, but from years of hanging out on these forums, I'd say that your 12V battery is dead. The Hybrid will not operate without a healthy LVB. There is a way to supply power to the car in order to open the trunk for access to the LVB. There are posts in the engine compartment to which a jumper battery or pack can be connected: See pg.231 ff of you OM for more info. Waldo
You can also fold down the back seat and climb through the trunk to pull the emergency release.

For some reason, I thought that the seats in the Hybrid didn't fold down.

I also thought the rear seats in the Fusion Hybrid did not fold down. So when Waldo posted that today, I looked it up and discovered they did! So Art, as you stated..."Whaddayaknow!". ?
andyross
I believe the 2013+ Hybrids do have folding rear seats. The previous gen did not fold down because the battery is behind the seat. Also, can you fold down the seats from the inside? On my 2011 (not a Hybrid), the seat release was in the trunk. Unless you were really small or flexible and could reach stuff through the center armrest passthrough!
propwash
Doesn't the 2019 model have a place to insert your key in the trunk lid?

Not 100% sure about later model year Fusions. However,i can verify that later model year MKZ's (the Lincoln cousin of the Fusion) do not have a trunk-lid keyhole. Good luck. And the rear seat releases on all models were moved to the interior, on the outboard edges of the rear seats. Good luck. The Fusion hasn't had a key lock for the trunk since day 1, nor do the Hybrids.

Well if by day 1 you mean day 3, the 1st and 2nd gen did from 2006-2012. But I'd be surprised if you can find any car that had a key lock for the trunk in 2019.
bbf2530
Hi gang. Yes, my 2007 MKZ and my neighbor's 2007 Fusion both have trunk-lid keyholes. And I just saw a 2010-2012 on the road and it also had a trunk-lid keyhole. So as Waldo stated, the trunk-lid keyhole must have been eliminated somewhere from 2013 on. Good luck. I had 2010 and 2012 MKZs and IIRC, they had key locks offset to the right. Edited March 31, 2022 by drolds1
