Phone volume/Traffic Warning

Recommended Posts

our 2010 Fusion hybrid is exhibiting two, perhaps related problems.

1.  The to hear an incoming call you have to crank the volume up to max.  I can't find any setting that might effect this.

2.  The cross-traffic warning beeps have gone silent.

This would seem to be a issue with the navigation unit.  Is there a way to do a full reset that might help?  Failing that what might some solutions be?

Hi maplewood. Yes, there is a SYNC Master Reset procedure. It is outlined in your Owners Manual. If you do not have your hard copy, you can download the PDF version here: https://www.fleet.ford.com/parts-service/resources/owner-manuals/

Something else you can try, in order to eliminate a phone problem, is pair another phone and see if the problem also occurs with that phone.

The cross traffic issue is more difficult. It could be the speaker, sensors, or any connection and/or other hardware/software involved.

Try the SYNC reset first, and let us know the results.

Good luck.

What version of Sync are you on?

What Phone, and how is it connected (plugged in , blue tooth etc....)

being a 2010, it would be Sync 1 , being that you mentioned Cross Traffic, I will assume you have Navigation.... and then you have to add you are 3 syncs away (current cars are at Sync 4) , and also depending on what phone, I'm sure that has something to do with your 'volume' issue...

As has been mentioned a reset of Sync might help (only gets rid of settings, does not take you back to factory)

Details always help, but remember this is a blind situation... we could be incorrect.... might be better to take it to a local dealer (or ford mechanic)
